Quarters Assignment

Mission:
S2E1: The Skunil Incident
Location: Operations Office
Timeline: Day 38 at 1830
Carry-on slung over one shoulder and after consultation with the computer, Henri made his way to the Operations office to see about room assignment.Since the computer didn't know where his quarters were, he figured Operations was the best place to go. Lean and well-muscled, even at forty-seven, Henri possessed the body of a trained athlete and because he was one to face problems head on, he was known to remark to those who criticized the lack of a youthful appearance that he had earned every gray hair. He saw no shame in being who he was. In fact, he was well-content with his life. He pressed the chime on the door, surprised that it was closed, and waited for permission to enter.
"Yes." Larissa called out, putting the Padd she was reading through down she sat up a little straighter in her chair.
Henri entered, his words flavored by his Cajun roots, "Sorry to intrude, Ma'am. The computer wasn't able to direct me to my quarters. I'm Master Chief Boudreaux. Just arrived on the Fair Wind."
"Welcome onboard Chief." Larissa said smiling up at the older man. "You haven't been given your quarters assignment yet?" She asked.
"Thank you and to answer your question, no, Sir," Henri said. "Or if I have, the computer isn't giving out the information. Privately," he added with a flashing grin, "I'm hoping for the latter."
"Lets have a look see," Larissa turned her chair a bit to face more towards her Lcars screen, she tapped at it a few times occasionally glancing up at Henri. "Can I have your serial number."
"Alpha Tango 218-235," Henri answered. Some numbers became embedded in memory, never to be forgotten, and he suspected that this was one of them. In more than twenty years of service, he'd rattled those numbers out more times than he could easily recall.
"Right, here we are." Picking up another Padd she handed it over to Henri. "Sorry about that Chief, here's your assignment. Deck 4, section 12, room A-12."
"In the sphere of what could go wrong on transfer," Henri said, his dark eyes twinkling as memories of disasters past floated through his mind, "this barely rates, Sir. Appreciate the help in getting it all squared away."
"It is certainly one of the simpler things that could have gone wrong." She thought back to her conversation with Crewman Latka. "At least you didn't report in drunk."
The beginnings of a frown drew his brown down somewhat as he contemplated the notion of doing so. "No, Sir," he said after a moment. "I'm as willing as the next to pass a good time but ... reporting in drunk?" He paused a moment, thinking about the scuttlebutt he'd been hearing since boarding. "Something like that happened recently?"
"Before my time here." Larissa replied, "I don't know the specifics just few of the crew reported in drunk and spent their first day aboard in the brig."
He made a mental note, should he become COB, to look into the matter further but for the moment, the larger necessity was settling in and finding something to eat. "Well, thank you, Sir, for helping with the room assignment. Sooner I'm squared away, the sooner I can find something to eat. With your permission?"
"Mess hall is on deck 2, avoid anything Tellarite, the replicators can't quite make it taste right." Larissa smiled then added. "Carry on Chief."
Henri chuckled. "I'll remember," he said and headed out in search of his quarters, his gear, and possibly a good meal.
