| Personal History | Born on the Orion homeworld to relatively poor parents Larissa's father Marca got into serious debt thanks to several business ventures that fell through, to pay them off he borrowed money from the orion sydicate, when they came to collect he was unable to pay, they let him off with a beating but told him there would be serious consequences for him and his family if he didn't. Attempting to save his family from the syndicate Marca sent Taya and the pre-teen Larissa off towards a federation world hoping to give them a better life with them. They arrived on Corridan II a month later, they were taken in by a fairly prominent federation official who over time got them federation citizenship and with his help Taya put Larissa through better education than she would have gotten at home. Much to her mothers chagrin Larissa did fall in with a few people that soon became close friends, through them she was able to experience what would have been a more typical Orion experience, experimenting with drugs, real alcohol and experimenting sexuall including losing her virginity in a threesome involving another woman. She also took a liking to punk clothing and old earth rock and metal music. As she got older Larissa expressed an interest in joining starfleet and started to take more courses and lessons to learn as much as she could to give herself a fighting chance at passing the entrance exam which she did but not by much. At the academy she found it a little difficult at first to settle in and get comfortable around some of the other cadets and it took a while for her to adjust to being required to take hypo's to dull her natural pheromones effects on people, the first time she had one she was sick for several days. During the Academy Larissa showed an affinity towards administration and starship operations, from this she was guided towards the operations role. Graduating in the middle of her class Larissa was assigned to a starship, the Luna class USS Wolff as an operations officer. She served there for five years earning her promotion to Ltjg and to the assistant chief position. With her experience on a Luna class Larissa was eventually offered a chief of operations position on another Luna class; the USS Crazy Horse which she accepted and was shipped off to Starbase 375 where the ship was currently. |
