Meeting at Five

Mission: S2E1: The Skunil Incident
Location: Aft Lounge on Deck 13
Timeline: Day 1 at 1700

To say it was a trying day would be an understatement, Romal thought to himself. He had met the new Chief Engineer or Xander, as he preferred to be called. He was all smiles and charm at first, then he suggested going to the Captain over something his child did. This didn’t sit well with Romal and now this meeting, but he’d get through it, he always did.

Romal stepped into the turbo-lift, “Deck 13, please!” and with a few chirps the lift begin moving. Moments later, the lift stopped and the pneumatic doors slid open. In the corridor, he noticed a few of his regular engineers were waiting for him.

“Hello Loren, Sylvia! I see you’re both early for the meeting.” Romal said, greeting them.

“Yea, we wanted to see his engineers, too. We heard about the drinking.” Sylvia said as they walked.

“I can’t help but wonder if they’re okay to work with.” Loren commented, sounding a little concerned.

“We’re about to find out, so let’s not bring up their drinking.” Roman replied, just as they reached the aft lounge.

The aft lounge was a beautiful room, with large windows that showed a panorama of stars, as well as comfortable furniture and subdued lighting. Inside, there were two groups of engineers on each side of the lounge. Romal sat with his group, as they waited for Xander to start the meeting. As they waited, the groups seemed to have nothing to say to each other, other than a general murmur and a few stolen glances.

"Hi gang, come on in and have a seat." Xander said as he was sitting at a table. "In case you don't know me, I'm your new CEO. This is Ensign Delmar, and Petty Offered Felson and Krit. And this is a Sr Engineering staff meeting. Have a seat. Is this everyone? All the supervisors and such?" Xander asked.

"Yes, its everyone, Xander." Romal replied, then turned to all the engineers; "I'm Ensign Seshel, your CEO's Assistant and with me are; Petty officers; Breylon, Scatz, Plairont, Scriver. It's my hope, we can get to know each other a little better and work as a team."

"Well, lets work on that after the meeting shall we." Said Cash. "Okay, are there any questions before we begin?"

Fram Scriver raised her hand, stood up and asked a question, "Our past CEO's wanted to be addressed as chief and I've noticed, no one calls you that. Should we call you Xander?"

"Xander will be fine. Okay, I'm changing the positions on the ship for Engineering as of right now.This is the new Breakdown.....3 shifts. Alpha shift, Beta shift. And Gamma shift. Each shift will have 1 officer, and 1 lead hand. Alpha shift will be Me, the Chief Engineering Officer and Petty Officer Rick Breylon as my lead hand. Beta shift will be The Asst Chief Engineering Officer and Petty Officer Eddy Felson as his lead hand. Gamma shift will be Ensign Delmar and Petty Officer Loren Scatz as his lead hand. As for the rest of you with the exception of Petty Officer Graal Krit you will be Sr engineers. Petty Officer 1st Class Graal Krit will be the wild card. He will be the man on call. IF you need help on any shift, he will be expected to fill in if he can. BUT, he will be getting the bulk of his assignments from me. Any questions?" Cash asked.

Nobody raised there hand or asked a question. It was assumed all was understood. "Good, Meeting adjourned." Said Cash.
