Bryanna walked out of her quarters, and took the turbolift to the bridge. Walking out of the turbolift, she made her way over to the Captain's Ready Room, checked her uniform was straightened, and pressed the door buzzer, waiting patiently for an answer.
"Enter," Sidonie called out. Between meetings with Department Heads, she'd been making steady inroads into the reports arriving moment by moment to her terminal. She stretched beneath the desk, legs extended and toes pointed, before returning to a more traditional position as the door slid open.
Bryanna walked in as the doors opened, walking up to the Captains desk, and came to attention. "Lieutenant Junior Grade Bryanna Voight, reporting for duty Captain." She said in a calm voice, with a slight smile on her face.
Sidonie returned the smile with one of her own as she gestured gracefully toward one of the chairs facing her desk. "Relax, Doctor," she said, a slight twinkle lighting the depths of her blue-green eyes, "I am aware of how difficult military protocol is to the medical profession in general. Welcome aboard the Crazy Horse."
"Thank you Captain." She replied, taking the seat offered to her. "And thank you for the opportunity to work with yourself and the crew, I really appreciate you taking the chance with me." She said, offering up a genuine, toothy grin, her Crystal White teeth shining through.
"You came well recommended," Sidonie said. "From what I read the Aries would have been happy for you to remain. Tell me, what made you decide it was time to transfer?"
"The Aries was soon to retire, she'd only been bought back into service to cover losses. It was either stay for another year or so and run the risk of going for a position I wasn't happy with, or look now and get a position and/or ship that I want to be on." She answered.
"And what made you choose the Crazy Horse," Sidonie asked. Beneath the desk, she crossed her legs, settling her hands on her thighs as she waited for the response.
“Well, a lot of my colleagues, most of which I call friends, have transferred to here from both vessels, so I feel like I know a lot of people here. My old CO also suggested the vessel, so I assume he knows someone here.” She replied.
"Probably me," Sidonie said, one corner of her mouth quirky upward as the play of color beneath her hair shifted to indicate the pleasure she felt. "We met at a conference I attended a while back. We discussed philosophy a time or two ... or rather I discussed, he tended to ... umm ... bellow his opinions."
Bryanna nodded, a large smile appearing on her face. "Yes...he was known to be quite loud, especially when he thought he was right, which sometimes he was."
"He loves debate, you know, and he'd often take a contrary position just for the joy or the argument. And then, when we'd finish, he'd say ...'let's do it again, only this time, I'll take the other side." Sidonie smiled warmly, reds and browns, subtle and yet unmistakable, threaded through the hair gathered at the nape of her neck. "Send my regards the next time you speak with him."
"Of course, i'm sure he'll remember you, he seems to have a knack for names and faces. I on the other hand have trouble remembering who I am at times!" She laughed, jokingly.
"Well," she said, responding in kind, "you can always address people by their rank. The little gift Starfleet gives to us all."
"That they do." She replied, nodding. "Although that has caught me out a few times. A small case of a pip being lost or falling off." She said, grimacing.
Sidonie shook her head slightly. Not in disapproval but more as memories of the Academy came and along with them, the mistakes that they all made in their first year. Back before the pressure had begun to forge them into the individuals they would become. "Well, probably good that we're Luna Class and not Galaxy, eh, Doctor?" She paused for a moment and said, "So, do you have any questions before I let you go?"
"None, thank you. And thank you for taking time out of your busy day to greet me onboard." She smiled.
"My pleasure, Lieutenant. If there's nothing else, you're dismissed," Sidonie said. "Welcome aboard the Crazy Horse."
Bryanna nodded again, before turning, and heading for the door. It was time to head to sickbay, hopefully to complete the medicals that the crew were to report for.
