Mission: S4E1: Time to Fly
Location: USS Albright - Ready Room
Timeline: Day 1 at 1300

Computer, begin Captain’s Log Stardate 69351.2.

This is my first official log as the commanding officer of the USS Albright. She is a fine vessel, and I am honored to be able to her new commanding officer. Our mission parameters will be that of science, but our over arching mission will be to explore this region of space. A crew has been assigned, and at least half the crew is being recalled from their extended shoreleave after their mission with the Sitting Bull fell through unexpectantly. Apparently, they had to be reinstated into Starfleet from the Exploratory Corp, luckily, they were reinstated with their ranks and previous positions. I welcome them aboard, from what I have read, their talents will be important to our upcoming mission.

Starbase two-one-four will be our base of operations while we explore beyond the Federation border. This is my first time here, and I have to say it will be a good base of operation. It is not as large as some of the other Starfleet installations, but it has a large rec area with restaurants and shops. There will be plenty to do for the crew as we get ready to leave on our extended mission.

We launch in twenty days; I am hoping that gives the crew enough time to make it to this corner of the Federation. My new Executive Officer, Commander Noam Canterbury, is due to arrive within the next few days. I look forward to working with him and the others that will make up my senior staff.

I am set to do tours of engineering, sickbay, and the science labs within the next couple of days. It has been a while since I have been in a science lab, and I am looking forward to seeing what the newest labs that Starfleet science has come up with. Other than that, there is a stack of PaDDs on my desk that I must sign off on before the Albright launches. There always seems to be paperwork, but I am grateful for the opportunity to command this new vessel – so, the paperwork is worth it.
