Meeting our new Chief Engineer

Mission: S1E3: Visit to Starbase 375
Location: Engineering deck
Timeline: Day 1 at 0900

Jasmine finished in the gym after having met the new XO. She wanted to meet the new chief engineer. She got dressed and headed down to engineering.

Once she got down there she asked one of the engineers where the new chief was.

"He's over there Ma'am". the engineer said.

"Thank you!" Jasmine said.

Jasmine watched him from a distance trying to get the measure of the man.

Cash was at his desk in his office looking over what could be schematics of the warp core. Or blue prints of the ship. Or it could be a diagram of the gravity net for the entire deck. All that was sure was that it had him engrossed and held his full attention.

"Hi I'm Jasmine Langtree the chief science officer I thought I'd come down and welcome you to the ship." Jasmine said.

If you're busy I can come back later or we can meet for drinks say 1800?" She continued.

Cash looked at the lady before him. He smiled. She did not know it, but Cash was NOT going to let her get away THAT easy. She was his savior. His salvation from things that were about to make his head explode. Besides, she was kinda hot.

"No, your not disturbing me at all. I was just.....Have a seat." He said gesturing to the chair next to him.

Jasmine took a seat.

"Well I an see your hard at work, special project?"

"This old thing?" He asked. "It's just something I pulled out to make people think I'm actually working." He said smiling. "So, what brings you by?" He asked giving her his full attention.

"Like I said I wanted to welcome you aboard and let you know I look forward to working with you." Jasmine said.

Cash paused for a second. "Would you like something to drink? Tea, coffee, anything?" He asked.

"Coffee would be great double cream double sugar." Jasmine said.

Cash went to the replicator "Computer, 2 coffees. Double cream, double sweet." He said. Then the coffees appeared. Cash took the both and handed them to the young Lt in front of him. "So, Lt, You say you are the Chief Science Officer you say?" He asked.

"Yes i am been with this ship 5 months now since she launched. Were you expecting someone older, or more male? jasmine asked.

She sipped her coffee, not bad for the replicator.

"I grow my own coffee in the hydroponics lab, you should come down to science lab 3 I wouldn't mind sharing. Jasmine said.

"I'll definitely keep that in mind." Said Cash. "And as for my expectations.....whatever they were, I can tell you that you have exceeded them brilliantly." He said hoping that she would smile.

Jasmine did smile.

"Good I would like to be friends." Jasmine said.

"The mission has already changed since we started, needs of Starfleet and all that." Jasmine said.

"Here's to a nice friendship" He said raising his cup of coffee. "The service DOES come first, so they say." He said. "Hey, what kind of music do you like?" He asked.

"All kinds from classic Human rock to Andorian jazz...I like classical too. Why what do you like?"

"All kinds. I love Cattilian and Human Blues, Andorian jazz, Human rock, I love most music. I've been even known to listen to Klingon opera." Cash said.

"Melot'ta is one of my favorite Klingon operas... too funny seems like we have a lot in common".

Jasmine sipped her coffee.

"Where did you grow up?" Jasmine asked.

"Here and there. I was a Starfleet brat. Dear old daddy is the Deputy C&C." He said taking a sip of coffee. "What about you? Where did you grow up?" He asked.

"I was a star fleet brat too, I was born on Jupiter station though. My folks were both engineers, star ship builders. so i spent time all pver the alpha and beta quadrants myself." Jasmine said.

"Well, that's cute. Here we both are. Second generation Starfleet." Xander finished his coffee. "Hey, have you eaten yet? Did you want to grab a bite?" He asked.

"Sounds like a plan I would love to join you" Jasmine said pleased.

"Great, lets go." Cash said escorting the lady out of his office. They were about 5 meters from the door, when a young male Human Ensign approached Cash. "Sir, you told me to come and get you when the power grid started acting up again." Cash sighed. "Oh Goodie. I'm needed." He said with great sarcasm. "What time was it that you wanted to have drinks? Could we make it dinner?" He asked.

"How about 1800?" Jasmine said.

"In the Blue Parrot?" He asked.

"That will do, If you don't show up I will bring you dinner..." Jasmine said.

"Ill be looking forward to it." He said. As they parted ways Cash could not help but to check out her ass. "Wow." He said under his breath as he left to help the Ensign.
