Mission: S1E1: Out of the Barn
Location: Travelling to Star Base 614
Timeline: Day 1 at 0700

Jasmine had left the Intrepid after three years of service. She hated flying but the passenger ship was surprisingly stable. The young human woman was a fleeter and as such was embarrassed by her motion sickness but she was coping well. She had found out her sister Lily was the CSO of a Nova class star ship exploring the Pinchot expanse. Jasmine was very proud of her, Lily had always excelled in Astro-Physics it seemed to be a family trait. When she had found out that a new Luna class starship was being launched and needed a CSO. She applied for the job. The girl believed she was fully qualified for the position and the Captain, Sidonie Ysayne agreed to interview her. It only took 6 weeks to get from the beta quadrant to the northwest regions Star Base 614. With the Ferengi and the Tzenkethi threatening incursions into the region both hungry for new territory it was an amazing opportunity for her to excel.

So far hostilities were minor, but they were becoming more frequent and threatening to not only destabilize trade routes and convoys, but endanger colonies. Jasmine had read somewhere that new pergium deposits had been found in the disputed territories causing a sort of old fashioned gold rush of get rich quick schemers that further stretched the resources of not only Star bases and star ships patrolling the region but also of civilian colonies and outposts. The northwest territory represented the greatest opportunity for exploration and discovery. Since the Hobus star exploded the Romulan’s were forced to face inward on themselves. They no longer represented a galactic power and were mostly refugees. For the remaining powers the territory was a new source of terrotry and planetary bodies to be exploited. Much of it was unexplored though at least by the Federation. A Luna class star ship was very well suited to that task. Jasmine briefly wondered how the Hobus star went Nova, but she believed that it had something to do with the Tal‘Shiar.

“Attention all passengers please return to your seats. We are approaching Star base 614 and will be docking in ten minutes.” The automated computer chimed.

Jasmine padded back to her seat and strapped in. The inertial dampeners fully compensated for the deceleration but she couldn’t help but feel just a tad queasy, it was mostly psychological, she hated flying after all. Once the freighter had docked, Jasmine made her was to Customs and border security, but being a Star fleet Officer she was conducted through rapidly and found herself in the lounge. It was then that she glimpsed the Crazy Horse through the lounge view port . The ship was large graceful and fully modern. She did wonder why it was named ”Crazy Horse” as most Luna class star ships were named after moons. Maybe someone had named a moon Crazy Horse. Stranger things had happened. She had once her of someone naming a class M planet “Bob”.

Jasmine made her way over to the gangway leading to Crazy Horse. She checked in with security and asked to be conducted to the Captain.
