| General Overview | Neteri's interest in learning the ancient American Cheyanne Indian ways was her passion. She loved their way of life as it was very simple and peaceful.Being taught in the Indian ways she became very good at tracking and hiding, or blending in to become invisible. Two very valuable things for a good security officer to have. Quiet but very smart and quick witted with very fast reflexes she is good at making snap decisions. | Personal History | Neteri had been born on Omega Inderi two years after her parents were married. It was not a traditional Betazoid wedding but it was a wedding nonetheless. Her parents were in the security division on Omega Inderi where she was born. A war broke out three years later and it was decided that she move with her grand parents on Betazed. Her parents figured it would be better for their daughter to be raised in a more stable environment so it was arranged plus. Neteri was a strong baby and grew up quickly. By the time she was five she was already riding horses like a champ. She had learned to trap rabbits and wild birds for food. She also was being taught how to use a bow and arrow. Neteri expressed a desire to learn of the American Indian traditions of the Cheyenne people. Neteri learned all the ancient traditional Cheyenne Indian ways before she started school. She learned all the modern histories and ways of living and earned the respect of her teachers. Neteri had a knack for blending into the background and becoming virtually invisible. She also had a love for tinkering with engines. She always fixed them so they ran smoothly and surprised her grandparents and her teachers. This caught the attention of a certain captain who was visiting the Betazed and spoke to her grandparents and they agreed to send her to the Academy with the captain. After a tearful goodbye, Neteri left for Starfleet Academy. The Academy was strange and unnerving to her. She had to learn how to use or control her empathy and telepathy and it became a serious problem for her in her first year. It was difficult to tune out the many minds and not let the empathy get the best of her. Fortunately she had one instructor who was Betazoid and with his help she started to learn how to manage her abilities. While she was learning, she also was being watched by one individual who was Starfleet security. He had a vested interest in her because of her ability to literally blend in with the scenery and become invisible. Neteri also had her hunting and tracking skills to her advantage along with her engineering skills to boot. Neteri took courses in security and battle tactics and scenarios to further her options in positions.however security was her most promising choice. Graduating from the academy four years later, she was appointed to the USS Jonestown as her security officer with the rank of Ensign. While on the Jonestown, she uncovered a smuggling ring dealing in bio mimetic gel. Now she had two assignments and things would get sticky sooner than later. Apparently the captain was involved in the bio mimetic gel ring which made it harder for her to figure out how the connection between the two was made. It was by sheer coincidence that a plasma conduit blew out, injuring her enough to be admitted to sick bay did she make the connection. Two of the nurses in sick bay would remove the gel and store it in a containment unit that had a dampening field so it couldn't be scanned. Then it would be put on the captain's yacht. Then when he would go out on his weekly trip to the starbase the Jonestown was near, the gel was transported to the Cardassian cargo ship on its way to the station. Neteri figured it out and by putting a homing device, or a tracking signal to be precise, and then told her chief and let him and the captain take it from there. Neteri did her job honorably and thoroughly for 15 years on the Jonestown however, the new captain was a hard nosed man and promotions were far and few when they happened. She managed to get to ACsO but her rank remained as Ensign. Neteri was summarily transferred off the Jonestown by Starfleet personnel and reassigned to the USS Crazy Horse. |
