| General Overview | Salynn has fully adapted to her life as a Joined Trill, and it’s rare for the personalities of the previous Oram hosts to come to the forefront. All of the Oram hosts, Salynn included, were very diverse and bring numerous traits to the table, though Sal is judicious in separating her native talents and interests from those introduced by her symbiont. |

| Personal History | Salynn is the older of two children in the Bryn family, and has always worn her elder sibling role smugly over her younger sister. Despite the protestations of her mother (and with the secret support of her father), Salynn decided at an early age that she would strive for application to the Symbiosis Commission for a Joining with a symbiont. As she got older and the realities of her odds of Joining became more apparent, Sal started to foster a desire to serve in Starfleet. She had already formed an affinity with space travel due to trips she had taken with her family offworld, and felt a sense of honor in serving such a large organization as Starfleet. Besides, she had no intention of abandoning her goal of Joining, and Sal knew that having a Starfleet officer commission would be a boon to her efforts. Sal continued to work hard throughout her schooling and her subsequent training at Starfleet Academy, striving to be at or near the top of her classes wherever possible. She found it exhausting and draining, but she leaned heavily on the support of her sister and father during these times to continue on. She wasn’t always successful at her efforts to best her own aspirations, but she was successful enough that the Symbiosis Commission kept its eye on her advancements. The Symbiosis Commission eventually advised Salynn of her suitability as a host within a few months of her completing her Academy training, and she was fortunate enough to secure a short leave of absence in order to return to Trill and become an initiate. She was shortly Joined with the Oram symbiont, and was able to return to Starfleet after a reasonable adjustment period. The Oram symbiont brought the life experiences and personalities of its previous hosts into Salynn’s life, and she is continuing to learn how to balance her own identity and those of her Joined existence. The previous hosts: Bevan, a renowned Trill architect; Tamar, a playwright; and Olixia, a pastry chef; have all influenced Sal’s interests and mannerisms in ways that she is still discovering. Sal remains close with her family, especially her sister and to a lesser degree her father. Though not estranged, Sal and her mother’s relationship has been negatively affected by her Joining. |
